Youngsters around the World who play sports at a competitive level have a problem when they turn 18. If they decide to go to college, they cannot continue practicing 2 or 3 hours a day and play tournaments on a regular basis. The amount of classes, work load, and the lack of time, make it impossible to do both activities. To reach the professional level in the sport of tennis, you not only need to have exceptional talent, but you need a lot of hard work as well as some good luck. America International offers girls and boys who practice tennis and other sports an alternative option. This is the possibility to conduct the secondary education in the United States with a sports scholarship that in the majority of the cases, covers 100% of the tuition fees, room and board, books, sports clothes, practices, and tournament trips, etc. The offer is very tempting if you take into account that a year in an American university costs between $12,000 and $40,000 dollars. There are about 3,200 universities in the United States that have attractive educational and sport offers. Of these, 1,100 offer sports scholarships, where a student can obtain a degree that will be valid in Spain. In the NCAA Division I alone, there are 314 tennis teams. At the moment, there are 15 university players who are in the top 100: James Blake, Becker Youngest child, Justin Gimelstob, Paul Goldstein, Kevin Kim, Davide Sanguinetti, Robert Kendrick, Amer Delic, Michael Rusell, Bobby Reynols, George Basti, Jeff Marrison, Jesse Witten, Beneditk Dorsch, Cecil Mamiit, Zach Freishman, Mike and Bob Bryan. In addition to these current players, retired players such as Todd Martín, Malivay Washington, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Smooth Raymond or Lori McNeal, among others, went through colleges in North America before playing professionally.
America International works with over 1,100 universities, in Divisions I, II and NAIA, making it an option for all those interested to obtain a degree without having to stop playing the sport they love. Before recieving a scholarship, many questions arise, such as: How can I obtain a scholarship? What university will suit my academic and athletic level? How can I choose which university is best for me? How will they select me? Do I fulfill the requirements to plays NCAA Div I or II or NAIA? Am I able to play NJCAA? Although the process is not simple, thanks to the experience of America International, this possibility becomes a great option for many athletes of Europe.
